This Region is home to many Government Personnel and Military Families. There are several bases in this region and it is home of The Pentagon in Arlington.  There are college communities and urban dwellers that enjoy the walkability and convenience of those communities.

The Region is somewhat insulated from the market impacts of the economy because there is always turnover with both the Military and Government transfers as well as those who are just opting-in to the condo scene as well as those who have reached the point where they are ready for more space and a slower pace of life.

The region is home to two showcase mix-use developments of Reston Town Center and Tysons Corner Center. These communities are often cited as examples of success of this development concept.

The urban life is available in abundance in the Alexandria and Arlington areas. You get an modern suburban vibe in Fairfax, Springfield, Chantilly, Tyson, Burke, Lake Ridge, Potomac Shores, Montclair, Herndon, Reston, Manassas, Woodbridge, Dumfries, Mount Vernon, and North Stafford.
